A short documentary by Lukáš Franz aka Tucznak about 3 days in July 2008. Abe Cruz, singer and main character of the second music video for the album Get Me Out Of Here (2006), and his family came from New York City to the Czech Republic to conquer the biggest music festival, Rock For People.
3 days, 1 rehersal, 1 TV appereance, 1 music festival.
In July 2008 The Prostitutes were Adrian T. Bell, Martin Destroyer, Stevie LFO, Luk Santiago and Šmity. The Dad is Abe Cruz.

The last Filter, the last Filter awards. And we score. Hometown Zombies is the album of the year, The Prostitutes were nominated for the band of the year and Boom got a nomination for the song of the year. Thank you. R.I.P.

Tomorrow, 16.12. 2009 we play the last concert of this year in Plzeň, Buena Vista Club and it is going to be also the very last concert of the 2007 line-up with Šmity, as he was replaced by Adam Piaf recently. Come and wave goodbye!
P.S. Thanx to everybody for yesterday fabulous Christmas party at 2. patro. It was great to see you and to play for you while you were singing!

Today we play at DESIGN Supermarket in Prague. In the 5th floor you can find and buy our very special unicorn brooch designed by [crysta], the designer’s nickname of Kristina Šedivá, our manager. See you there!

So your relationship is worn out and you think you can save it by going on a holiday. But think twice. And go to cinema to see the new Czech film “DVOJKA” directed by Jaroslav Fuit and starring Jakub Wagner, Kristýna Fuitová-Nováková and David Máj. A road-movie which leads to Denmark and towards an end of one relationship. Dogma-like lo-fi perfection. You will laugh how sad and extreme it is and you, probably, will thank god for the partner you have or you have had.
The film soundtrack consists of many of Czech indie songs from Khoiba, Photolab, Tata Bojs and Ecstasy of St. Theresa and we can proudly declare, that our song Sunshine appears in one of the most extreme scenes of the film as well as it was chosen for the trailer.
We liked the film a lot and we recommend it.

We added two new not-so-secret gigs on our event list, both of them happening very soon and taking place in Prague.
DESIGN CONCERT
The earlier one is on Friday 11.12. 2009. Together with The Fakes, The Prostitutes will play as a very special guest of design SUPERMARKET in a building formerly known as the department store Perla, Perlová street no. 5. It is a corner of Perlová and Jungmannovo náměstí. Here is the map and here is a Facebook event. The concert starts at 21.00 and the entry should be free.
CHRISTMAS CONCERT
The second gig is a bit secret and will be on Monday 14.12. 2009. Right after Umakart concert at Kino Oko we’ll move to 2. patro but we are not allowed to tell what it is and where is it, you should know or find out for yourself. From approximately 20:00 there will be a theatrical play of Pixy, a famous comic book by Max Andersson. And around 22:00 we will start our very special, Christmas concert with piano, acoustic guitars, bass and drums. We’ll play couple of semi-unplugged versions of our songs plus our country favs in the coolest place in Prague these days. Entrance free again. A must-go.
