Did The Prostitutes practice occult rituals to get into Mexican press?

I will never let you to know this but ask me anything else tomorrow, Tuesday 30. June from 1.00 PM at LIVE CHAT idnes.cz and I swear by the Almighty that I will answer that. If I will tell the truth? Hard to say, probably not, but I will accept and answer all questions in Czech and English too. See you there!

The Rolling Stone experience.

In 2005 students of some university in Mexico City asked us on myspace to come over and play at their party. Even though they started a petition, we never made it to Mexico. Last issue of mexican edition of world-famous music magazine Rolling Stone shows Depeche Mode on the cover, but hides something way more surprising inside and it puts us back on mexican music map. An above-average review of Hometown Zombies album, competing with Pete Doherty and hungarian band Hangmas on the same page. Btw, Hangmas have got two music videos made by Šimon Šafránek, the director of Boom and Elephant music videos recently released by The Prostitutes. Is this a possible conection? We don’t know yet.

The english translation coming soon.

And big thanks to Aldo Salinas, who pointed out the review for us and sent us the scans!

JamRock Festival

JamRock festival reminds me of Pohoda festival due to its very friendly atmosphere formed both by organizers and visitors. The festival takes place in wild east Bohemia on the perifery of city Zamberk. There was a great backstage, great chill out lodge and nice catering (have a look on Stevie’s pictures in the preceding post). We played just one day after the Planet festival and originally we planned to depart from Prague to  Zamberk at about ten. But Stevie was so excited from Klaxons’ show we saw the day before that he wasn’t able to wake up in time. The departure was then delayed and Stevie managed a fast-food breakfast as a compensation.

As Smity was still occupied with sound-engineering at Planet, Adam Piaf (Fake Tapes) played the bass with us for the first time. And it was simply great, thank you Adam. Another premiere took place on stage when we played together the Elephant song at the very end of the set.

Honestly I didn’t expect that many visitors. Some incredible 12.000 people visited the festival during the whole weekend. Thumbs up :-)

Bass booster.

While Šmity is touring as a sound engineer mainly with the Black Lips, a U.S. garagealcobeatles, and Skyline, new bass players appeared in the line-up of The Prostitutes. As we already informed you, the first guest bass player was producer of our latest album Dušan Neuwerth. Unfortunately, he’s quite busy in the studio and touring with Tata Bojs, so we grabbed another friend into the game. Adam Piaf from Fake Tapes played the first gig with us at JamRock Fest last week and we would like to say officially thank you, Adam, for a great spirit and shpw. Not to mention the bigger attention from teenage groupies, indeed.

Achtung, CD Baby!

And now, some marketing and sales talk! Finally, there is an easy and efficient way how to get the latest album Hometown Zombies worldwide to your door! Thanx to CD Baby. The direct link to the page with the album is that you just passed by, so go back!

And when you are already shoppin’, why don’t you go for the debut album too? Highly acclaimed by listeners (5/5), Get Me Out Of Here is ready in a form of a CD or hi-q mp3 download. At CD Baby, of course. Or, if you have an iTunes account, you can buy it there.

Voice of Lithuania

Thanks to our good friend Paulius, The Prostitutes are now virtually present in Lithuania. Hope we will come one day we and do a show as well.  We are working on it. If you are strong in Lithuanian, you will find it easy to go through the interview. For those who are not, try Google Translator. It’s far much funnier than you even can imagine.
