The Beatles started there, Karel Gott started there, so no wonder The Prostitutes follow their star-steps. This Monday, the infamous members of “The Prostitutes Corps” (other bands call it humbly ’street team’), namely Stevie LFO, Kristina Šedivá aka Crysta 1277 and me, Martin Destroyer, landed in our blood red spaceshuttle in Hamburg, St. Pauli. Of course, there’s no better place in Hamburg to stay for The Prostitutes. So we had a hotel there, we had a lunch and dinner there (did we have a dinner?) and we also had couple of drinks there in the evening.
The mission objective was clear: to meet Kerstin from A.S.S. After dozens of emails, changes in management and in the eve of the new album release we decided to come over to meet face to face. The A.S.S. HQ is located somewhere else than in St. Pauli so we decided to take u-bahn. The weather was horrible, freezing rain and strong wind. Corps decided to take a walk. How clever. U-bahn doesn’t go there and we had 15 minutes to get to their office. A cab was pleasant solution. I slept at least a half way there so I don’t have any idea where the A.S.S. is located. Probably in Hamburg. I sent two SMS to Kerstin that we are on the way and if she counts with the meeting but with zero reaction. Kristina and Stevie do silly jokes about existence of Kerstin and A.S.S. and I am not laughing. Finally, at least the address exists and the warm invitation breaks our doubts. They know about us! They’ve got meeting room and hi-fi and it all looks clean and organized, you can’t avoid some comparisons in your mind. After an hour of talking about release in Germany and concerts we kissed each other and despite Kerstin’s warning that on Monday neither prostitutes are going out we pointed back to St. Pauli.
It looked all very dead indeed. So we went to some pub for couple of beers and wine by personal taste. And we didn’t have enough. So we went on and the place outside wasn’t so dead as before. We met many interesting people, usually musicians who followed the star-steps but have been caught by this place too much, have been in couple of harbor pubs dressed like irish ones and we drink. We bought kebab late at night and we had more fun than one can handle with a serious smile on face. We tried to absorb the genius loci in such a limited time and we kind of succeeded. In the morning my head was like spending a night in Hamburg.
We travelled the whole Tuesday back and in the evening we had a photo shoot for the album cover with Roman The Trasher aka Ramon, our spanish guitarist, in cold Prague Studios. Together with the weather in Hamburg, it took me down and now, writing this post, I am in my bed under a flu treatment. And Šmity is not feeling much better.
You can taste the joyful atmosphere of our departure from Hamburg in this pointless but true video:
And here are some trashy pictures taken by LFO during the journey:
BTW, I wonder who is reading this post with such a bunch of keywords.

destroyer: wth happened that u’ve deleted your blog?
it was eating me
You kidding
…quite strange that the weagainstthemusic ‘blog’ disappeared too, was drinking you?
and george bush disappeared from white house. he was sucking me. no, honestly, i think its quite a while weagainst themusic disappeared (I didnt hear about it more than a year at least) so I dont see any reason to build a connection with last old mod except that some people still believe it was me who was running the funnier one. and i must claim again: despite the “bezvadnacky” word wich connects my vocabulary with the vocabulary of the strip blog and despite the fact i would love to be the author of some of these strips i am not and i never was, majk. believe me or not. but i will miss weagainstthemusic more than my blog.
Despite the fact that I am convinced Destroyer wasn’t the author, weagainstthemusic was still accessible about 2 weeks ago.
well, some of the strips were funny, but overall i’m not suprised that the author (whoever it is) stayed in anonymity. i beLIEve you, it was probably only a “blog disappearing time coincidence”
and i liked the less funnier one more.. wish that is in blog heaven now!
