Yesterday Brno: We came when Tata Bojs were having the soundcheck and when we saw the stadium, we went “Bloody hell, what a crowd!” It looked like a gig of the year with all these people streaming from one side to another. We had a place at a indoor stage. Fával club is a cool place but “cool” was pretty far away from reality. Hot and steamy as hundreds and hundreds people were trying to get in and out constantly, one toilet, cues for anything, loading from backstage (actually placed in the “backvenue”) over all of of you was worse than a nightmare. I decided to go to a toilet some time befor the sound check and this whole operation took me 25 minutes (spending actually less than a minute inside of the room). But, sometimes you have to go literally through a hell to end up in a paradise: and it was you! Great crowd, great atmosphere. The guy in front of Adrian, looking like a younger member of Sunshine, singing Top! Top! The Radio! into She’s Dead made a great mash-up out of this improvisation reproducing Kay really well and made me laugh really. Šmity gave me a heavy-metal-hug during the last song and overall we had a good time on stage except one thing. My heart unfortunately “went boom” in couple of last days, so I didn’t feel very well, respectively I felt seriously bad. I was trying to keep myself kind of alright by drinking a lot of water, but still my health state forced me to be rather static, focused on basic life functions and basic chords.

But as I said the crowd was fantastic and we really enjoyed the concert. Thanx for your reaction, thanx for your myspace comments.

There are definitely couple of things which should be solved next time in logistics and organization, but overall we were GLAD to come over and play and we’ll gladly come back again! All the difficulties of the club were summed up after the concert by a guy parking his car right in the way of our van making the leaving really hard and risky. When Radek (our driver) asked the guy to park his car somewhere else, the appropriate answer was: “I am the fuckin’ owner of this club so you better shut up otherwise I fuckin’ punch you!” Not completely a Tony Wilson model, but pretty close, just more elemental.

I survived the concert but on the way home I decided to go straight to a hospital. Praha, Karlovo náměstí. EKG, blood tests of all kind and all this stuff and after two and half hours I felt at least psychologically better: it’s not a heart attack. I am not dying yet. Pretty good for a thursday, isn’t it?

Tomorrow, you can see us at Anifest in Třeboň. We are going to play there with Tata Bojs to celebrate the festival of animated films. Be there at 8PM please, as we have to start on time! Looking forward to see your animated bodies on the floor!

Three days on road last week. Party bigger than bang and Adrian found himself exhausted and I found myself today…

Zlín was simply fantastic. We starred later than planned because people were unable to get in so we were waiting. When we finally showed up, there was a lot over a thousand people in Golem club looking eagerly for music, dance and entertainment. We had a great night though. Amazing crowd, pogo dance and reaction. A gig you will remember.

Day before, in Ústí, we had a chance to see Control (film by Anton Corbijn) and it’s not so bad as I heard. It’s a nice film with just a little too much literality expressed through the connection of the actual story and music, resp.lyrics of Ian Curtis. But it is touching and true-to-the-reality biopic, plus a great visually aesthetic entertainment. The after-party had a atmosphere of the film as the whole town looks a lot like Macclesfield. We had a good time and so the people who came to see us after the film. Tucznak and his father showed up as well as Tcha-Tcha and her boyfriend (is he called Martin?). Stevie performed Máj by K.H. Mácha and The Prostitutes hazard their reputatiton by playing She’s lost control live.

Ostrava welcomed us with a big article in Mladá Fronta Dnes newspaper and we expected quite a lot. Especially when some of our posters covered Daniel Panda’s ones. My phone, lost in Zlín and found by Stevie again, was finally totally broken so I spent some time by shopping for new one (unsuccessfully). Boomerang is closed, so instead of this traditional place for rock concerts, we played in Templ, the place where I attacked our prime minister last year. Soulmate and Ringwraith showed up. Thay had a little anniversary with us as he had a 20th and she had a 10th gig of The Prostitutes in Ostrava. We bought them to their surprise a bottle of sparkling wine during the concert inviting them to stage to celebrate. We agreed that we will turn our concert in České Budějovice in a little party staying there with Soulmate and her friends. Then we went t the car and we took off to our country road. As you can see on the pictures above, I had a first live appearance with my new Fender Telecaster ‘52 beauty I bought last week which plays so clean, so dynamic and overall so well that I was floored immediately. Big thanx to GuitarPark.cz for help, support and good taste for guitars! Looking forward for a strat this week coming from US. Then the Gibson/Fender forces will be in balance again.

Anne Marie sent me an email saying she is finishing a music video for Don’t Give A Damn with The Dad. I am so looking forward.

This week we have a couple of really important meetings concerning the recording. Cross fongers for us please!

Anyway. I managed to keep my red jacket on for the whole concert without sudden death caused by overheating. I saw my friends dancing. I saw a bra flying in the air. Fine. Your reaction to Hometown Zombie, the song written for the second album we played for the first time in Prague, was great according to what I heard and it definitely increased our euphoria. Looking forward to play more new songs for you soon!

 Y hize bien. La primera cancion, digo „..pero que sonido mas malo para una banda tan grande“. Por suerte de los miles personas de auditorio mejoro el sonido durante dos o tres canciones mucho. David Keuning apodado Brian May apodado el perro de aguas no se ni emociono ni casi movio. No lo necesitaba porque detras del muro negro habian dos guitarristas mas dandole cana. Brandon Flowers, el punto debil de Los Killers, desafinado pero vamos yo en su lugar pasaria dias y dias ensayando con algun profesor del canto. No sabia ni si estar detras del teclado cuando otro teclista estaba tocando tambien escondido detras del muro negro o si perdido en el escenario andar de un extremo al otro como un loco. El unico de los cuatro que sabia hacer show era el bateria Ronnie Vannucci aparte de que toco muy bien. 

Pero no me fui del concierto cabreado, no, para nada. Tocaron algunas canciones de un modo halucinante. Como luego dijo Smity „necesitan uno disco mas para que no haya ni un momento debil del concierto“. En total bien.
