Tomorrow, 3th March 2009, the second album called Hometown Zombies, is going to be released. You can buy it in Czech Republic in all news-stands as an addition to the new issue of Filter magazine (for the price of the mag). Plus a feature, a review and some crazy photos inside.

Do you want to hear more about our new band member, who is completely robotized, is relative of R2D2 and is called Wédéčko? Read the Filter mag!

Looking forward to hear what you think about you’ve heard. Digital release to follow in couple of days. We will keep our international fans and supporters informed here on our blog, which is now becoming the main web page of the band.

I don’t like photos very much despite that I am really fascinated by them. Especially I have very ambiguous relationship to photos of me. They are not “memories” as I never remember the moment they were taken, they work much more as a “feedback reflection” as I always see how horrible my haircut was that time.

Visit of Abe Cruz and his family in Czech Republic made a remarkable footprint in our memory and touched hearts of people (words courtesy of Tony Wilson). Hopefully, we will see each other soon with another collaboration. Till then I will hang out with Anne-Marie on iChat disturbing her from her work from time to time.

It was like a dream. Tucznak, shooting all this for three days, wrote a nice post which sums it up for me quite well. “Internet makes the world smaller” finally got a real picture for me. We met people who really dare to be different without being unwillingly (or intentionally) silly. They do it by their spontaneity, fervid effort and extraordinary sincerity – something we use to call “rocknroll”.

I finally met my e-friend Anne Marie and we had a chance to “take drugs together”* and it was simply great. Mr. Abe Cruz aka The Dad made a show like he was on stage every night for many years and people loved it (according to what i heard on stage). Somebody mentioned Buena Vista Social Club and I nodded smiling. We had two beautiful evenings inside two nice restaurants, super-quick rehearsal, TV appearance, the Dad made couple of interviews for diverse media and we had a great time at the festival on stage together. 3 days stay is a luxury for a rock-star on tour to spend in one country, isn’t it?

Hard to describe the atmosphere, so I will rather use videos to talk about it instead of words.

Knock, knock! The Dad is coming!

In couple of hours, 10AM exactly, The Dad and his family will land at Prague’s airport. We can’t wait. We planned everything properly, bought presents, made schedules, transport plans, media meetings. I think now we are ready. Adrian and Stevie will wait for Abe Cruz and his family at the airport (together with Tucznak, who will take care of camera and will be shooting doc about this official celebs’ visit . They will take our guests to the hotel and in the evening we will go for a drink or two following our guests being in advantage (they will have – 6 hours). The next day in the evening we will rehearse for the friday’s Rock for People concert (starting 15.50 at green stage). If you are interested, don’t miss this one-and-only show with The Dad on stage! More info here. After the rehearsal we will go to Czech TV for a live interview in Události v kultuře at 21.00 and then for a dinner in a restaurant. On friday, 4th of July (!), we will leave Prague around 12 o’clock heading to Hradec Králové airport to play at the festival. Hopefuly, the show will be good. On Staurday Abe and his famiy are going back to U.S: Normal boring life of superstars as we know it.

The last and the first.

While the video for the last single from our debut album finally got its sound post-production treatment and The Dad enters youtube again but in a higher quality, the first single from our upcoming album was already mixed and mastered. It happened on thursday in Dušan/Tata Bojs’ studio at Delta. It should be hopefully out due September and it seems that Mods, me and Michal, will do the music video for this one as a followup on our successful video for The Prostitutes’ Sunshine, again produced by Bistro Films production house in Prague.

But first of all, already mentioned new version of sensational The Dad sings The Prostitutes:

Look into the last issue of Filter magazine and apart from the undergoing main theme which is “Splits, break-ups and divorces” in music business and we are happily not a part of it this time, you can find at page 17 a short mention of The Dad video. The editors are, by their own words, confused and “…we are frightened even to call Martin Destroyer to ask him what is all this about.”…”Massive!” Thank you Filter and don’t be frightened next time or just read this blog for more information in “The Dad” category (find in the side bar). The Dad rules, indeed.

Thats why we would like to announce that The Dad with the family is coming over to Czech Republic 2nd of July (my birthday). We will see each other for the very first time as to this point I have a contact just via internet with The Dad’s daughter, Anne Marie, who produced and filmed the video for us. We are really looking forward because we can also confirm that The Dad will appear with the band on stage at Rock for People festival, 4t of July (US, my dad and Šmity’s birthday), to perform Don’t Give A Damn live! Don’t miss it and see you there!

Anne Marie sent me the link with the video yesterday and we want to share this with you immediately as this is one of the best gifts we’ve ever received! Smashing video, stunning the Dad. Lucerna Music Bar on April 2nd. As you may already know, we are going to raise a furious club night, the only one in the capitol city for this Spring. We will play some new songs from upcoming album we are currently working on as well as some real oldies. For the overall riot well prepared and planned in advance (start by r’n'r garage band Drain) we called the strongest fellows: Kill The Dandies! The maniac band born from the ashes of The Nihilists and The Bodywounds. But here are the news: We can also proudly announce that Steve Morell accepted our invitation for the final extermination. A Berliner who brought to Czech fans bands like Warren Suicide or Mignon, a key persona of Pale Music Int., will contribute to this evening with his smashing DJ set! Victims welcome, folks!
