8 days that changed The Prostitutes

So, even thought we didn’t arrive to Spain (for detail see previous post), we managed to do the recording. In Prague instead of Granada, but with Youth on the board. After 2 days of intense rehearsing and 6 even more intense days of recording, we have it wrapped. Ten or maybe eleven songs for our third album. They are strong and full of energy. Sometimes dark, sometimes straight, but definitely big. The fast-food chains in Dejvice recorded a significant increase of turnover during last week as we all worked on our own record as one body night and day. We all feel different now, more confident about what we do. We hope you’ll find this common spirit on the album. It was a long party and great experience powered by his Excellence Mr. Martin ‘Youth’ Glover and his right hand Michael Rendall.

We would like to express our thanks to:

- All contributors for helping us to make all this possible

- Youth for his attitude, good vibe, strong leadership a for learning us really a lot

- Mike for his patience, stamina, backing vocals and continuously good mood

- Kristina for all management and production support

- Studio Faust for helpfulness and high-end equipment

Now we will add just a few details, mix it and master it. And then present the result on April 26th in Akropolis. To bring you a bit of the atmosphere in the studio we post a picture gallery from the past week. Some videos will follow shortly after we cut them.

The Prostitutes will present its show based not only on their live album ONE TWO THREE FOUR, but also on several new songs from the upcoming studio album.

Our very special guest, The Bodywounds (Rány Těla), a Prague cult post-punk band influenced by Australian-Berlin blues, country and psychedelic disco, returns in its almost original line-up. These decadent phantoms were a kind of revelation on the Czech music scene of the 90s. The band released one studio album, entitled “Polyester” (Indies Records, 1996).

The Prostitutes představí v Akropoli nejen koncertní program postavený na nové live desce ONE TWO THREE FOUR, ale také hned celou řadu novinek z připravovaného studiového alba.

Jako vzácní hosté se představí členové legendární skupiny Rány Těla (The Bodywounds). Rány těla, kultovní pražská postpunková formace ovlivněná australsko berlínským blues, country, či psychedelickým discem, se vrací takřka v původní sestavě David Kabzan, Hadji, Hank J. M., Jakub „Pegáč“ Pelnář a Vratislav Placheta j.r.

Dekadentní fantomové pražské klubové scény devadesátých let určily osudy mnohých, ve své době byli na české scéně naprosto ojedinělí. Skupina vydala v devadesátých letech jedno řadové album s názvem “Polyester” (Indies Records, 1996).

Všichni členové dnes sice působí v dalších kapelách a projektech (Kill the Dandies!, Stargazer, Green Monster atd.), nicméně čas od času se scházejí na pověstných destruktivních sessions. Novinkou je, že po letech se opět setkávají ve studiu, kde připravují materiál na nové album. Po letech opatrných návratů, nedořečených náznaků a vodítek jsou Rány těla konečně naplno zpět a vy je můžete slyšet společně s The Prostitutes v pražské Akropoli uplně naplno!
